Derya Kukrer, who was born in Istanbul, completed her elementary, secondary and high school educations in Istanbul. She graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1997, and the same year, she enrolled in the doctorate program in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of the same university. In 2002, she was granted the title "Doctor of Science in Prosthetic Dentistry" with her doctoral thesis "An Analysis of the clinical performance and marginal adaptation of Targis inlays".

She has articles published in national and international journals in this field. Furthermore, Derya Kukrer, DMD, who participated in many national and international conferences and symposiums, is a member of the Association of Aesthetic Dentistry Academy and is fluent in English.
