Endodontics

Dental tissue consists of three parts called enamel, dentin and pulp. Pulp is the formation of vessels and nerves inside the tooth. Symptoms such as toothache (especially night pain) and swelling on the face occur as a result of the inflammation of the pulp due to various factors (cavities, gingival diseases, trauma, etc.). In this case, the decayed parts of the tooth and the inflamed nerve tissue are cleaned, and bacteria are removed from the area. The procedure, in which the cavity remaining after the removal of the nerve tissue of the tooth is cleaned and filled with root canal fillers down to the root cap, is called root canal treatment. With this procedure, it is possible to prevent any risk of formation of bone infections caused by bacteria inside the mouth by reaching the tissues at the end of the root.

The root canal treatment is painless and comfortable thanks to the modern anesthesia techniques. The number of sessions is determined depending on the general condition of the patient and the infection status of the tooth. Following this procedure, there may be a slight sensitivity and pain in the teeth. This is a normal condition that occurs after the root canal treatment. It is considered a temporary process. These complaints disappear when the root end completely heals.
